Turns out that the company that sold the TSA their nude body scanners goes by the unbelievably regrettable name: Rapiscan.
Yeeeeeesh......
As to the Slate article itself, I have to say this: If opposition to requiring people to carry a national ID card and submit to nude body scans or groping while traveling by air is a Republican thing than hey, kudos to the Republicans. Those might be some of the few things that I can agree with them on.
