Events Held Abroad to Commemorate Day of Sun

Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between March 17 and 24 to commemorate the Day of the Sun, the birthday of President Kim Il Sung.

There were a lecture in Democratic Congo and film shows in Russia.

Otete Gaston Mboyo, deputy general secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Democratic Congo, said in the lecture:

The President was the peerlessly great man possessed of rare ideo-theoretical wisdom, distinguished leadership ability and noble popular traits none of other leaders in the world can match.

He was the savior of the Korean nation's destiny, the father of socialist Korea, the great teacher and the sun of the progressive mankind in the 20th century.

Korean films shown included "Korea Shining with Long History".

After watching a film, the director of the Neutron Physical Field Station of the Dubna International United Nuclear Institute of Russia said: I came to know better about the efforts of Kim Il Sung, who devoted his whole life to providing the people with better conditions for culture and rest, and General Secretary Kim Jong Il's politics of love for the people.

The socialist system of the DPRK led by Kim Jong Il is excellent and the Koreans living in the system are a happy people, he said.
