Last post for the day before I go to work.
A quick anecdote:
When I was a kid, I was a bit of a fatty. Not a waddling, meatball of a child but decidedly plump. Did that stop me from running home from the bus stop every day after school, like some sort of meth crazed gerbil?
No. No it certainly did not.
Bears wouldn't have stopped me. The Berlin Wall wouldn't have stopped me. A bear sitting on the Berlin Wall in a Stasi outfit with a machine gun wouldn't have stopped me.
Why?
Robotech. Totally had to get home for the Robotech.
For those of you sadly not in the know, Robotech was a SUPER AWESOME JAPANESE CARTOON ABOUT PEOPLE FLYING JETS THAT TURNED INTO GIANT ROBOTS WHILST FIGHTING EVIL, GIANT ALIENS THAT COINCIDENTALLY, TALKED JUST LIKE THEY WERE ROBOTS!
At one point, the aliens used bombs shaped like Santa. Which is how I learned that evil truly exists in the world.
Anyways, the aliens are eventually defeated through the power of Japanese pop music which is pretty weak. But anyways, I ran my fat ass home so I could sit my fat ass down and watch slim Japanese people blast the hell out of dirty, dirty, treacherous ETs.
Probably, the best part of my life. A few years later, my father gave me a copy of "What's Happening to my Body" and told me to feel free to chat with him if I had any questions, at which point everything started to go downhill. Which is probably true for the rest of the world as well.
Anyways, years ago I picked up a disc by these guys and listening to this song....Man, it brought back memories of jets turning into robots and blasting off into space to protect us from the alien hordes.
Fortunately, it did not bring back acne.
