Well, looks like the race is beginning to slowly, and painfully take shape on the Republican side of things.
So far, Tim Pawlenty and Michelle Bachman (Turner Overdrive) have launched exploratory committees, Sarah Palin's gone off to India and Israel to look at stuff and Newt Gingrich has finally found love (and conveniently enough, religion), in the arms of this third wife. And so, so many other possibilities. Huckabee, Romney....Maybe even Haley Barbour if he just learns to keep his mouth shut.
However, only one Republican has gone beyond forming an exploratory committee or touring the Middle East and actually declared his official candidacy. The first Republican to be officially running in 2012 is interestingly enough, the first openly gay Republican presidential candidate.
