Return of the Sunday Matinee

A bit of charming animation for a lazy Sunday.

That said, I can't help but pity the poor citizen that just discovered that his inner animal is a tape worm or a dung beetle or something similarly unfortunate.

The Sunday Matinee, Part II

Turns out the Japanese have been cranking out robots an awful lot longer than I thought. That said, this is so deliciously steampunk that it bears special mention.

With a name like "Carrot vs. Ninja", how could I resist?

The Sunday Matinee/ Music for a Sunday

Sorry about the light posting today. I've been out to the museum with the girlfriend.

Anyways, thought I'd kill two birds with one stone with this bit of musical theater.

The Sunday Matinee

Zombies and beer...Doesn't get much better than that. It's like chocolate and peanut butter. Only if the chocolate got you drunk and the peanut butter wanted to eat your brains.

The Sunday Matinee

Sorry about the light posting. Between my birthday, my vacation and the visit of the wonderful Girlfriend, I've simply been too busy.

But there's always time for movies!

Before "District 9" there was...

Alive In Joburg - Neill Blomkamp from Spy Films on Vimeo.

Which has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with it being Easter. Nothing at all.

The Sunday Matinee

For the mad scientists out there...

Just because it ties in so very, very well...

The Sunday Matinee

Pretty cool...

I think it's one of the the better examples I've seen combining live action with animation.

Enjoy!

I'm guessing that he was hoping she could give him some advice as to whether to put it in with his whites or his coloreds.

The Sunday Matinee, Halloween in March Edition

Going to be a bit of quick blogging today. The Girlfriend and I have a movie date so I've got to get as much put together as quickly as I can.

Fortunately, I used to be a boyscout so I come prepared.

Searching last night for some movies for the Sunday Matinee, I came across these two shorter ones. Spooky! Spooky! If they can have Christmas in July, I see no reason why we can't have Halloween in March.

First of all, in honor of Rep. Peter King's recent witch hunt:

Secondly, the quick and the dead:

The Sunday Matinee

I find bullfighting to be pretty interesting. And pretty immoral to say the least. If the bulls were dogs, would you ever go to one?

That said, I do find them intriguing. I don't know that I'll ever go watch one but I find this video to be a very apt analysis.

The Sunday Matinee, Smut Edition

The second of two Sunday Matinees in honor of the Oscars.

Enjoy!

The Sunday Matinee, Scary Cartoon Edition

Thought I'd do two Sunday Matinees today in honor of the Oscars.

They showed all of the Oscar nominated shorts the other day. I didn't go...It's an awful lot of movies to sit through. But anyways, this will be the first of two short films that I like today.

Get yer popcorn on...

I may or may not go to see this years Academy Award nominated short films in the coming week. It's a lot of short films to see all at once. Not sure if I can sit that long in a theater.

Anyways, here's one of the nominees from last year.

The Sunday Matinee, An Appetizer

I'll find something longer later when I'm not quite so pressed for time. In the meantime, I present the trailer for "I Am Here....Now".

Pardon my language, but it is batshit insane.

Essentially, what we're looking at here is some sort of space alien, robot, zombie Jesus with the power to control time and I think dolphins? He fights against a violent drug gang Dolph Lundgren style.

No really. I'm totally serious. That's what we're looking at here.

I Am Here....Now (trailer) from Cinefamily on Vimeo.

Anyways, more film as well as the weeks bit of poetry later when I've got the time.
